NO, NO, NO!!! You hook the hose up to the LOW PRESSURE side. If you get it hooked up to the high side, and I don't think you can (fitting size), you'll be eating fragments of the can of refrigerant if the compressor kicks on.

THE CAN MUST BE COOKED UP TO THE LOW SIDE
REPEAT LOW SIDE
AT OR NEAR THE ACCUMULATOR OR RECEIVER DRIER
THAT IS THE SUCTION SIDE AND WILL SUCK THE FREON OUT OF THE CAN AND INTO THE SYSTEM
I AM WONDERING A FEW THINGS
A 1977 T-BIRD HAD R12 FREON IN IT
UNLESS THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN RETRO-FITTED TO USE R134A I AM CONFUSED
YOU CANNOT PURCHASE R12 WITHOUT BEING CERTIFIED
BETTER CHECK THIS OUT FIRST
NEXT, ARE U PUTTING FREON INTO A SYSTEM WITHOUT THE USE OF AN EVACUATION PUMP ?
I AM STARTING TO WONDER IF THIS IS GOING TO BE A SUCCESSFUL OPERATION
PUTTING FREON INTO AN UNEVACUATED SYSTEM IS ASKING FOR INTERNAT FAILURE WHEN THE CHEMICALS COMBINE WITH MOISTURE IN THE SYSTEM
MAY WORK TODAY BUT WILL KILL THE COMPRESSOR SOON
