I am looking for 3 specific collection books. Unfortunately, I have no idea of the name of the books OR the author. I do know that each book is a collection of fairy tales such as, "The House That Jack Built", "Cinderella", "Goldilocks and the Three Bears", etc. One book is blue, one is red and I believe the 3rd is yellow. If anyone knows what I am talking about, please let me know. I used to have these books but there was a flood in my mother's basement where they were stored and they got destroyed.

Are you by chance thinking of Andrew Lang's fairy tale collection books? He published several under titles such as "The Blue Fairy Book," "The Red Fairy Book," and "The Yellow Fairy Book."

If all you remember is the colors, they are likely the Andrew Lang books. His earlier ones (which also tended to be the more "normal" colors like red and blue) had more fairy tales most Americans would recognize like the ones you mentioned - his later books (teal, pink, etc.) had some more obscure fairy tales. They've certainly been around a while, and your local library most likely has at least some of them - they're quite popular.

I agree with dukalink6000. Probably long out of print. Do you know the approximate age of the books? That would help.
