Will a Ford Taurus transmission fit into a Ford Windstar? Is the transmission the same if the part is the same year?

Both posts stating or implying the Taurus is a rear-wheel-drive are incorrect. Don't know what year Taurus or Windstar you are referring to, but I know the Windstars from model years 1995 to 2000, used the AX4S transaxle. Model years 2001 to 2003 Windstars used the AX4N. Tauruses however used BOTH from 1996 to current. It may BOLT in. Whether or not, there are internal differences, I don't know, or at the VERY least, I'm not sure. You are better off searching for a unit that came from an identical model year and vehicle if you're not sure.

Sorry but no. The tauris is rear wheel drive and the windstar is front wheel.
