Well, I can tell you one thing, its addicting!! lol.. My daughter came to be about 4 months ago,, shes 10 and ask me if she could open a profile,. I had never even heard of Myspace! Considering my pc is in my room and I'm always around when shes on it, I let her, I started looking at it,, opened one myself, and now I go on there all the time! I've gotten in touch with soooo many people that I haven't seen or talked to in years!! Some were even back from high school and I graduated in 1989!! You can do a search to look up people you know, and you can browse also,, The best part is this... You can make your profile private. Just go under the account settings. You can change your settings to the way you want them.. You can tell as much or as little as you want about yourself. If you put in your school, you can even look up other people (who have a profile also) that are the same age as you,, or you can look up any age around yours that you choose. If you have yahoo, aol, msn, in one click, you can see who in your address book has a profile also. Once you open one, you can change the background(layout), cursors, add graphics, add personal photos, etc. Up in the corner of someones profile, it has the web page of where they came from, or if you see a graphic you like, just double click on it and 90% of them will take you directly to it., It can be fun,, it gives me a break because I work here on my pc. But like I said, you can change your setting to whatever you want if your worried about anything being public about yourself. Click on edit profile, then account setting on the right. You'll see it. If you want to add layouts, graphics, etc, you copy and paste them under "edit profile". If you need any help, I'll glady help you out.. Just let me know.. Ohyea,if you decide to change your layout from one to another, always delete the old one first.
And for everyone else whos reading this,, yes, my daughters profile is completely set to private. Noone can talk or email her that she does not know, You have to accept the person before they become "a friend" on your list.. And I'm right beside her when shes on there.
You can also set it to where if someone wants to be added to your friend list, they have to know your email address or last name to even ask. And , you can also block someone completely if you don't want have contact with that person

Pros:
you can make new friends, network, date, etc. Meet new people, chat, know about localized events, be invited to events, get free tickets, etc...I have been using it a lot to network for jobs.

Cons:
Like anything else online now a days, you can end up meeting a freak. However, if you are cautious, you're fine.

no. i find that myspace is too much like highschool. its all about who your friends with and how cool you look. for example most myspace profiles are kids in highschool and thats what their all about. so it all depends on how old and mature you are. if your mature, then what are you doing talking to a bunch of teenagers. and if your older, how mature are you to fit in with kids in school

Pros - None

Cons - It is an attractant for naive children and also attracts pedifiles. Beware.

Why on earth would ANYONE want to advertise personal things about themselves for millions to read?

No No and again NO!

Especially if you have a job! Do you want employers/parents/family members knowing everything you do???

If you make your profile "Private" it is not as bad though.
