Zinc chloride is soluble in water.
Zinc sulfide is not (Ksp = 10^-21)
Add a mixture of the two to water, stir.
Solid ZnS will be on the bottom of the flask and can be isolated by filtration.
The now dissolved ZnCl2 can be isolated by evaporating the water after filtering off the ZnS.

zinc sulfide melts at 1991 K.
So heat the mixture to 285 C and filter out the solids. Then allow the liquid to solidify. The original solids will be zinc sulfide, the solidified liquid will be zinc chloride.
Also zinc chloride is soluble in water, while zinc sulfide is not.
SO, add the mixture to water. Filter. Evaporate the water. The solids left on the filter are zinc sulfide. The solid left after the evaporation are zinc chloride.

Put it in water. Zinc sulfide is by and large insoluble; zinc chloride may be one of the most soluble salts known. Once separated, and if you wanted to get the zinc chloride back out, simply evaporate the water back off.

By roasting or by heating in the presence of oxygen. SO2 Will go in the air and solid Zinc can be separated by filtering.
