If all the money that was given to charities would actually go to charities.

It will never be solved. Most of the world famine problem belongs to a particular continent who the people there have never shown a capacity for industrialization or any sort of civil society. Instead what winds up happening is a warlord takes over (of course his name is King or Prime Minister or something) and then blocks the food aid to those opposing his oppressive regime.

It is more likely AIDs will be cured than there will ever be a solution for world hunger, because so many factors and dynamics are at work keeping the cycle going.

When every country has:

1 Stable government
2 Private property rights
3 Rule of law
4 Private property rights
5 Free elections
6 Private property rights
7 Free Press
8 Private property rights

Then world hunger will be solved.

In other words, without liberty all the compassion and foreign aid in the universe will not change anything.

Zimbabwe used to be a country that had the ability to produce enough food to feed all its people and have some leftover for surrounding countries. Then Robert Mugabe became leader and took farm land away from the owners. (private property rights) Now there are food shortages.

If you want a viewpoint that I doubt you have ever read, then I recommend the article in the link. It is from a highly respected German Magazine that interviewed an economist from Kenya.

When people stop being selfish, and help others. Especially the rich. They are so busy buying name brand crap, and plastic surgery. They could help a lot. HA! Like that would happen. I guess people won't care unless it were to happen to them.

If we haven't solved it in about 5,000 years, don't see it happening. The only option I see is socialism, but I don't see it happening.
