It's a bit of a friends one this: (Remember Phoebe and Mike?) But can a meaningful relationship last without marriage to hold it together? How long can a relationship go without marriage? Can it include children?

Marriage is just a peice of paper and a pretty party. IF you are in love, you don't need marriage to make it official.

I say a relationship can definitely stay together without marriage and it can involve kids. It all depends on how the other person feels about the situation. Talk it over with your friend and then the two of you can come to a conclusion together. I wish I would not have gotten married and just stayed they way we were. Our relationship was a lot stronger before then what it is now. When you get married you have a lot more things to commit to and it is hard and expensive to get out of.

yes, because a meaningful relationship starts of being true friends as long as the both of you are honest with each other and everything is kept out in the open it could work.God says there no mistakes with having children, but He also said every man should have his own wife or husband remember a large degree of marriages fail;marriage doesn't guarantee happiness

U dont hve to be married to make a relationship meaningful. Once u both love each other is all that matters. Marriage is just a formal way of being together. There are lots of ppl where r not married but hve kids.

I think a relationship is just as meaningful, sacred and special as a married couple. The only difference is that you have a piece of paper to prove it to the world. And I also believe that unmarried couples can have just as long of a relationship as a married couple, if not longer and it can included children. I say as long as you're truly happy with your arrangement then be it, besides that piece of paper doesn't come with warranties, promises, eternity or security nowadays -Everything is a risk and up to the individuals.

If you stop chasing after the chicks who are considered the typical chick to go for, yes, you will find a meaningful relationship with a woman. That means stop chasing after the super hot chicks, they're usually all shallow. Stop chasing after the high middle class, upper class suberban chicks. they are ususally uptight and unrealistic. Stop chasing after the typical college chick. They usually just want fun times with the top guys around. I'm about to say something racist but, stop chasing after the majority of white chicks out there, many have a bloated image about themselves due to the media. Look for hard working chicks who you meet at the book store while their on the job. Or women in their early 30's who have matured enough to know what they actually want in life. Try different races, they can be exotic and a relaxation from the typical American background.

Yes...A marriage is merely a piece of paper, its what goes into a marriage that counts & a piece of paper can't rule that, only you can...Whether your married or not, a committment is from the heart & a couple can live with vows in their hearts & minds without a legal paper to confirm it..Dont get me wrong marriage is great if thats what a couple wants but I truly believe a committed relationship can be just as great...=)

Marriage does not hold a relationship together. Marriage is about property, money, and children. Maturity , respect, and love hold a marriage together ... it takes two to tango. It is nice for the sake of children to have married parents, but see many children these days with their parents living together, but not married. This is far better than having them married, but not together.

If the relationship works, and makes sense, and the two love one another, marriage should be the next step. God intended people to be united as one, not to date around and not make a comittment in case things get "hairy"

and kids should never be voluntarily be brought into the picture unless you are married. they need a stable home, not dating parents!

good luck

statistically couples who live together without marriage or even live together for a while before marriage do not stay together as long as couples who just get married from the start.
