every time i restart my computer (click the power switch on the machine) there is a message that says "cannot find keyboard" this computer was built by a relavite. It has microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse that uses one reciver for both and connects to the usb posrt. i think the problam is that the computer first loads the keyboard before it powers up the usb port so the key board doesn't get a signal and then the computer can't detect it.
this doesn't happen when u chose restart just when u turn the power o/f

The Bios should have an option to decide what to do in case of an error like this.

Easiest thing to do is to se that setting to "Halt on no errors"

Okay, let's get to it. Follow these instructions:

1. Click Start>Control Panel
2. Double-click Keyboard
3. Select the Hardware tab and see if your keyboard is listed under Devices
4. If it is, make sure it's highlighted and click on the Properties button.
5. If there seems to be a problem, click Troubleshoot.

If your keyboard is not showing up in (3) above, you need a new keyboard!

Hope this helps!

I GUESS IT DEPENDS ON THE BRAND BUT THE LAST ONE I INSTALLED
THERE WAS A SMALL BUTTON ON THE BACK OF THE KEYBOARD YOU HAD TO PUSH IN WITH A PEN
THIS SENT A SIGNAL TO THE USB RECEIVER AND THEN IT WORKED
I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERIES ONCE TOO
TYPE THE MODEL NUMBER INTO YAHOO SEARCH TO GET THE MANUAL TO SHOW YOU WHERE THAT LITTLE BUTTON IS
I HAD A HARD TIME FINDING IT

I'd go with 'billyandgabys' response, go into the BIOS, usually you have to hit the DEL or an "F" key (F8, F2, etc...) and there should be an option to select where you ignore this type of message.
Just be careful not to make changes to anything else within this as this may cause more problems for your pc.
