You know what, I am tired of your ignorant a**! You cant call us n*ggas. Cause when your race created the word, it was created out of hate and to humiliate us! Why don't you come down to the south and say it. Lets see how fast your white a** can run! Why would you want to call us a n*gga? You wish you were black! Get over it, you could never be in our shoes! You wouldn't be able to handle what we went through and is still going through! So f*ck you, you white racist bastard. Why don't you take that hood off your head, so some oxygen can get to your tiny brain! You low life B*TCH!

I agree. As a black person, I honestly don't care who uses the word. I should hope that there are enough words in th English language that can be used as a substitute to this. However, those who hold this double standard are simply ignorant and arrogant. Why? Because if they actually understood the origin of the word, they wouldn't say it either. There are other derogatory terms that people use that people don't like to be called in any race. I feel that the "N" word falls into the same category.
Overall, the attitude is not only racist but discriminatory as well. They act as if black people are the only ones who have had a hard time. And one last thing: you're correct in saying "black" and not "African-American" because the vast majority of black people in this country were born here and not in Africa. Sorry, that went a little long. Hope this helps.

It sounds "rather racist" to insist that a race has a double standard. The "N" word is very offensive and is used by many races in a negative way. It not a double standard to use it hatefully, it is just very very wrong. You need to do some research on where this word derived and what is means to be called this, it is not just a word--it represents hate in the most heinous sense. People that are comfortable razzing each other with this word are just playing and quite frankly it is their business not anyone else's what they want to say. Stop trying to cause trouble in something that is non of your business.

It's not about a double standard at all. Basically, I believe that we use it as a saying, not a derogatory meaning. Just like saying, "what's up, homeboy" ; "This fool just...."; "Man, how r u just gonna....". It's being used as a saying. But when someone of another race uses that word, it can be viewed in a negative way, because when it was originated it was used by a different race to describe black people. White people aren't the only ones to use the N word, that's why I say "different".

I'm not black. but I thank its because its the only thing left to really give the race something to hold on to from there passed. its a word that was used{and still is} to make white folks feel Superior.what they've done is try to take it away from them. to make it not hurt as bad anymore. to tell people this is ours now y'all better not use it in front of us ,stop all that hate.... let um have it. it ant good for anything Else. white folks that hate have tons of slang words for blacks I know I live in the south ... but that don't matter ether I lived in the north to and there just as bad.. it was richard pryer that really got it going. that I remember.blacks calling each other the n word. he made it funny instead of mean.

Personally I think that its more geared toward the white race more then any other. The reason being the white race made it a bad name, so usally when coming from a white person it is meant in a neagtive way. Just like someone calling a Korean person a Chink would be considered racist considering they aren't Chinese. There is always something from one race to another that can be considered "double standards". Maybe not always white v.s black, but any race vs. another.

If you are truly interested and don't mind spending a little time and money, read Larry Elder's book entitled "10 Things You Can't Say in America" The first chapter has very thought-provoking ideas regarding why blacks are the way the are. (BTW, Mr. Elder is a black man himself, which makes his words even more poignant)

I understand what you mean. It doesn't make any sense. If they hate it when people say it perhaps they should stop using the N word to, however they are black and its different if they say it. When they say N its a term of endearment I suspect. It's like hey what's up my n i g g a. Not I'm going to kill you f ing n i g g a. Anyone who isn't black probably shouldn't say it though.

Uh no, I don't think so. Here's what you should do: Get a clue by taking a trip to the deep south and stay only on the black side of town for an extended period of time. Your paradigms will shift and you will (hopefully) grow less ignorant.
