The fastest stock motorcycle avaialble at a dealership today is the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14. It has displaced the Suzuki Hayabusa, but not by much.
The governor thing negates the speed - the fastest you can go is 186 (pansy Europeans). But, the governor is easily removed, and I've seen Hayabusas with turbo kits that go over 200 MPH. The Ninja, w/o the governor, was tested by Sport Rider magazine in the quarter mile and it only got to 189 MPH.
So, unstocked (without the governor), the 'busa still rules.

The Busa and Zx14 are both governed at 186. The Zx-12 and Busa back in 2000 would both top out at 196 in the perfect environment. Whoever said 209 is full of crap, you cannot trust the speedometer, they are innacurate to 15% after I believe 90mph.

Kawasaki & Suzuki motorcycle companies have merged, so my guess is that those two bikes are virtually the same.

A company called MTT builds a turbine powered motorcycle that has been clocked at 227 miles per hour. I think that beats the rice burners.
The only reason you don't see may of them is that they sell for $150,00 U.S. dollars

Neither!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The 2000 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R is the fastest. I have had mine up to 209 mph, don't ask me where. This bike will eat a zx-14, gsx 13r, and anything else up and spit it out.

All motorcycles are governed at 186mph so its just the getting there that is different. But if it is only 0.1 or 0.2 seconds, does it reaqlly matter that much?
