Originally it was "Fabulous":
The characters use the radio sign-off "F.A.B." rather than "Roger" or "Over and out". Gerry Anderson (the shows creator) was often asked what F.A.B. stood for, but in fact it simply stood for "fab" (short for "fabulous"), a 1960s catchphrase. Later this was unofficially decided to mean Fully Advised and Briefed.

When creating Thunderbirds, Gerry Anderson chose Fab, the abreviation of Fabulous as a call sign for the tracy brothers to use. Spelt out as F A B. He did not plan for it to mean anything at the time, however in recent times, he is considering giving it a meaning in line with his other programs; "PWOR", which was short for "Procceeding With Orders Received" in Stingray and "SIG" for "Spectrum is Green" from Captain Scarlet.

What does 'F.A.B.' stand for?
Nothing! Despite appearances, as used by International Rescue in Thunderbirds, 'F.A.B.' is not an acronym - it is simply a call sign like 'Roger' or 'Ten-Four' to acknowledge received instructions. At the time of the series' production, the term 'fab' was in common usage as a shortened form of 'fabulous' which, of course, everything was in the Sixties. The phrase has enjoyed a resurgence in usage in recent years and 'F.A.B.' itself entered the English dictionary for the first time in 2002:
"'F.A.B. interjection British informal an expression of agreement to, or acknowledgement of, a command [from British television series, Thunderbirds]." - Collins Dictionary (2002)
