even if you can't have pets, doesn't mean you can't borrow someone else's cat for a couple days. I've known people that live in apts. borrowing friends cat's for a week and seeing if the cat will catch the mice before hiring someone to come in.

If you get any crap from the landlord, you can say you're simply cat sitting for a friend, since the cat's there temporarily.

If you have seen two, there are likely more. Mice can produce in less than a month, so you want to get right after it.

Get at least 6 snap traps (I like Victor brand) and set them around along the walls of one room of your house. Bait them with peanut butter, but DON'T SET THEM. After the first day, check to see which traps have been visited. Remove the others and rebait the traps without setting them for one more day. On the third day, set all the traps and you will catch mice. Place the traps along the walls where mice will feel confident in going. Don't set them out where there is foot traffic. Keep trapping until you get no more mice. Then you can leave one or two traps out at all times.

I use the large sticky rat traps. The small mice ones don't work. I think the little buggers laugh at those. By the large rat traps and put a small bit of peanut butter in the middle of them. Place them in front of any closet doors, and some outlets. They like cabinets, too. And ceilings. And closets. If you live on the first floor and there are leaves around the outside base, get them out of there and place some boric acid around the base.

With no pets in the house to worry about I'd go with the Dcon. They eat and go somewhere else to die. Keep an eye on where you put it to see if they are eating, if they don't move it to a different spot. You can also use glue traps, but that means handling the trap with a dead mouse on it and I personally hate that chore. Sorry to say if you've seen 2 there are probably more that you haven't seen so don't wait to do something. Act Now!

Lowes sells rar or mice chasers. They are electric. Just plug them into an outlet. There is about 4 diffrent sizes and prices from $9 UP TO $29. The chasers makea a sound only thr rats or mice can hear. Wal- Mart has 3 to a pack for $19. And you can put them in diffrent rooms. My neighbor has one that he bought years ago. He put it in his shop [ that is large as a house] and it keeps rats & mice away even in his garden. He said he hasn't seen a rat or mice in several years or since he put the chaser in his shop .

Keep your food put away - nothing open on or IN cabinets. Keep all your trash picked up. Basically, don't give them anything to eat. They can get into containers and wrappers.

Tell your landlord and have THEM call the exterminator. It is THEIR job.

A couple mice is not much of a problem. It's quite common. It's when they start showing up all over the place that you know you have a problem.

No high-tech solutions necessary. Go to your supermarket or hardware store and buy some "mouse seed" (D-Con). It's in a yellow box. Follow directions and places the little boxes in dark places where the mice are apt to find them. Field mice come in from the cold this time of year and they do make a mess. When they eat the mouse seed, however, it makes them thirsty so they leave to find water and die outside - not in the walls.

Get mouse poison and put out the cost is about 1.00 per box, make sure that you do not have water standing anywhere, (close your toilet lid) because the mice eat the poison and they look for water, if they find it in your apartment they will drink it and die and you will have to deal with dead mice, if they do not find any in your apartment they will leave and go somewhere else to die.

Wala, problem solved for under $5.00

Complain to the apartment manager, the critters will go into other apartments if that;'s not where they came from to start with.
Unless you live in a run down building they should do something if they haven't already. Some places are so old that they can't stop them.
