This is for the UK people its to do with car road tax. I was recently fined £40 for not completing the sorn form, I failed to pay within 14 days(i think it was 14) so now they want me to pay £80, I,m not happy, What do you suggest. PS I,m on a low income so maybe the court would be sympathetic.

They only want your money so cough up the £80 or they will have to release a rapist to make room for you in prison.

What will likely happen is that there will be a warrant out for your arrest in Arizona, since you failed to complete the terms of the agreement. If anyone at all runs a criminal background check on you, they will see that outstanding warrant. If that background check is run by any law enforcement in any state, they'll see the same thing. At that time, you would be arrested, and Arizona would then have the option of either having you extradited or releasing you. In sort, if you don't complete the terms of the plea agreement, you are eventually going to have some trouble one way or the other. Good luck!

The court could be rather unsympathetic, and take the view along with the DVLA, that if you haven't declared sorn, you may be liable for the road tax, and if you haven't paid that, it could fine you up to £4000 ( which i beleive is the current fine for failure to pay vehicle excise duty), and also add points to your licence.

I'd pay the £80 and leave it at that.....

Pay as quick as you can, the costs are only going to get higher otherwise.

Court costs aren't cheap and they won't go easy on you as you had plenty of notice that your tax was about to run out plus they gave you an additional 14 days to pay the reduced fine and I presume you didn't contact them and let them know you may have trouble paying in time.

Pay the £80 and learn by your mistake. Going to court could cost you more.
