Chavez does not sound like a good man. Venezuela people are in trouble. He may want to be dictator for life, like Castro, enslaving all the people. The sooner to get rid of him is the better for Venezuela and the world.

substitute America for Venezuela and Bush for Chavez, and then you will have asked a good question.

Even though Chavez wants to be another Castro, we will not let him, and even his own people won't let him to. Socialism and/or communism have no place in Venezuela. Chavez's foes are buying large homes, like to travel first class and own the best cars in the country. They sure love capitalism at it's best.

Someone, answering this same question, says that Chavez has done a good job with the poor people of our country. Well, that's not true. Half of the people don't have real jobs. They are street workers that sell everything from pirated DVD's to smuggled clothes. His strategy, like Castro's, is to maintain a large amount of poor people being miserable and depending on an eventual handout by the government.

Next December's elections are crucial for our future. If we manage to vote him out, happiness will return to our country.

Hi, I live in Venezuela and have done so for all of my life.

Trust me we are doing everything we can and that is within a legal framework in order to get rid of chavez. On December 3rd we will have elections and the opposing candidate is showing very good signs of acceptance amongst the poor, medium and high class.

I dont think that we will let him stay for all of his life, we don't want him here, yet he has control of everything (military, congress etc) and with oil prices this high he can buy his way to many places he currently wants an ONU seat. But the people are showing that they want more for their country and not the rest of Latin America as chavez has done lately.

Let's hope for the Best, wish us luck.

Too late, he already is a total creep. He treats the poor okay, but he has done a job on the middle and upper class. He is also encouraging violence against the US and her allies.
Also note that he and Cindy Sheehan have had a very nice dinner together and laughed it up at a communist rally. And she is just a mom mourning her son... Give me a brake!
