I don't think you ever forget about them. It was that first moment, first experiment with love. It doesn't mean you want to be with them. Simply thanking them for showing you the way to where you are now. If it makes you feel better, sometimes I think about my first love. Just wondering what he's up to, if he's okay.. Things like that. I don't think you have anything to worry about. And it's exactly what you said, it's just dreams, it's memories.

I had the same problem with a lust rather than a first love because I am with my first love now. But I have found that the other that you think of will never truely go away so the only way not to think about them is to push them to the back of your mind and think on other thoughts. I kinda distract myself so I don't think of them.

Nope! Its still there and it will never go away.
Its as if you are moarning. You have to turn it around in your thinking like this.
For example. My mom died. I can't see her anymore but I can hear her voice in my head, I can still smell her scent in the air, and I can laugh at the things that we use to joke about and laugh about. I remember all her quarky remarks and advice.
There is no one else in this world...who holds those thoughs and experiences except..In me..In my thoughts. Do you know how lucky I am to be the only one. To know that in my life.. I was so lucky to have that time with her.
Its the same way. I too have that GUY in my mind and I was really depressed about it for awhile but again...I am special because no one else on this earth at that or those very special moments of just the two of us since all experience are unique. I am lucky to have known him and I carry him with me everyday.

I don't think anyone usually gets over their first love, there will always be a place in someones heart for their first love no matter how bad things ended or well.

Nope. That's why it's a first. You'll never forget it and you'll never experience that same kind of wonder again. However, you have nothing to feel guilty about. Everyone goes through this at some point. Just keep it to yourself and don't dwell on it.

Every love is different and they are progressively more wonderful as time goes on because you mature. Think of how immature you were when you had that first love.

Have you ever heard about the power of focus? If not, this is one you can't afford to miss. Focus on the present and don't dwell on the past. Its as simple as that but how to do it, is yours to master. But that works for me,
