Once a religion begins to establish forced control over others, or to make its teachings dogma that must be followed or punishment results, then that religion loses sight of true spiritual understanding. That is when it brings in the seeds of corruption. It replaces the need to promote true spiritual understanding with the desire to establish its superiority over others, which can lead to the ways of totalitarianism. Then politics, disunity, intrigue and even war become prevalent.
All true religions accept that God is the ultimate unifying principle, an omnipotent, supremelu spiritual being who has infinite intelligence and capabilities, abd from whom comes pure and unlimited love for one and all. He reciprocates with us to the degree to which we surrender or desire to understand Him. A religion which cannot offer such an understanding, or whose followers have perverted the philosophy, or who cannot apply it in their daily lives, is not a truly progressive or elevating religion. In such a case, it becomes necessary to get away from the church to get closer to God. after all, the church should not make itself more important than the true spiritual knowledge it should be promoting. In other words, when the process of worship outweighs the object of worship, or God, then you have already lost Him. Such a religion will not be spiritually successful and should be corrected or avoided.
What this means, as we head into the future, is that it will be most important for people to be spiritually knowledgeable and to think for themselves and recognize that forced dogma is not what true religion is about. We have already spent many centuries witnessing religions supressing and persecuting others and we should have learned our lesson by now. As spiritual beings, we all have an eternal relationship with the Supreme Spirit. No church or institution or its representatives can interfere with that. We do not have to participate in any religion that forces us to be subservient to a faulty creed or misleading or corrupt leaders. we must only serach out those individuals, pure devotees, who can assist us and gives us the spiritual knowledge by which we can understand and reach the Supreme Being ourselves, with or without any institution or organized religion. To become atheistic because of the failure of religions to present us God as He is is the sum total of all stupidity. God's doing very well , thank you. Whether you ackowledge, recognize, know this or not.

Very well said! I absolutely agree with you. The ultimate undoing of man is in his inability to accept that all things change. God, The Goddess, Infinite wisdom, What Am, ...is a supreme being that has poured nothing but change into his creation from the very beginning - the big bang. Churches have taken their primitive understanding of what God may have been thousands of years ago and have twisted it to meet their own selfish desires. We as humans have been searching for answers of who we are in all of this and have turned to these religious leaders, who claim to be experts on what God wants....when in reality we already know what God wants simply by being a part of God. We are Gods expression of human existence. What we need to know we already know...we just need to turn inside and find it...for the kingdom of heaven is with in. Recognize that you are a spiritual being - truly a part of what is and stop letting man's ill informed version of "salvation" control your every move in life.

P.S. Slim1234 - Homosexuality is NOT a lifestyle. It's a sexual orientation. Also, the Bible is NOT a guide to the genetic make up of the human body nor is it a guide to suppress and control all human experiences. I seriously doubt that you have been abiding by the LAWS set forth in Leviticus.

Nope. I disagree completely.
God, assuming there actually is such a being, by nature would be so far beyond our ability to understand or comprehend that creating a religion to worship "It" would not only be nearly impossible to get "right" but given our lack of comprehension the "religion" would be little more than a tribute to the arrogance, conceit and vanity of the human race.
"We" aren't the only form of life in the Universe, nor are we the most important.
"We" do not hold any special place because of "blessings", what is in existance that benefits mankind is the result of our adaptability, not a "Grand Design".
All those who claim to "know God" are at the very best, fooling themselves and serve the designs and vanity of Man, not the will of the unknowable true God, in the worst case they serve the interests of those who seek to control Man for their own purposes.
How does Homosexuality fit within the scheme of things? Odds are it is a biological phenomenon that has to do with overcrowding and stressful conditions that the mother experiences during pregnancy, similar things are proven to happen to other animals are exposed to stress during pregnancy. It's simply another little understood part of nature, nothing more and nothing less.

I read an article where the bishop and elders council have made a statement to allow the lgbt community into the church. It mentions 5 ways to end discrimination against the lgbt community.Full equal rights(marriage within the church, civili unions etc). The religious leaders(jewish, catholic, christian and one other that yahoo won't let me spell out)praised this statement.Saying discimination, hatred and bigotry against the lgbt community isn't part of any religion worthy of name...

There are good non corrupt religions..But there are churches that are corrupt. You can't base the goodness of a religion based on a few bad ones. After all if they're all corrupt etc.. There wouldn't be any religious people fighting for gay rights.

Proof to the old saying, "The sinner knows more about the Bible than the preacher." In Old Times it was a sin for a man to have sex with another man just like taking a piece of bread and running out of the store was. At that time people were stabbed, hanged, or stoned to death if caught doing wrongfull deeds. When Jesus was crucified then the laws of forgiveness changed as well. It was an end to the sacrificing of animals and going on hunger fasting and it became as simple as getting forgivness for your sins through prayer "in the blink of an eye". Christianity is set up by rules and guidelines. This world would be nothing but terror if the Christians did not maintain some order in this world. You can't blame God for mistakes that people like YOU make! Blame them for killing, molesting, and murder. It was done on the will of a man and therefore is the fault of man. Church in the USA is a community meeting center that devotes their money and assets to the people within. Churches support themselves by the contributions of it's members and it's purpose is to better your life. Sure, there have been psychopathic christians and sure there are Muslim fruitloops too. But to deem God stupid for one's ignorance of his teachings and one's opinion on christianity is wrong. God forgives all sin whether it be sexual or spiritual. Don't blame God because you have a pathetic life. Don't blame God because you got too much time to think and not see. There is a thing called an IMBECILE. Those are people who blame God for their own self torment and loose their faith with it. Faith is knowing and understanding and choosing to be honest. Faith is what you are lacking to write such preposterous lines about a God you clearly know nothing about. Take that to the bank.

Agree with the line of agrument completely but where in that is the truth about gay people? Are we meant to extract from your dialogue that just because an established religon condemns gay people it doesn't mean that that religon's deity/god does? If so, we knew that already, and if anyone didn't they should. If this is not what you mean I'm afraid you're going to have to be clearer about what you are trying to point out.

that's a sin to be gay, that is no longer something it incredibly is born in someone or something, whether it happeneds and various persons are gay. It grew to become into no longer something God did to all of us, he did say he gave them up for his or her own lust in direction of one yet another, and that did no longer purely propose comparable intercourse. that is no longer constantly sin if someone makes the alternative and that they did no longer understand the alternative on the time. This happends to many babies. each and every thing is for a reason, and God won't forsake his babies, superb to invite in prayer for help with all issues, and Jesus Christ will help someone be a Christian and coach them to do the choose of God Almighty whether that's their will to realize this.

No, I don't agree...
When *you* say "All true religions accept that god is..." (anything), then you're being as dogmatic as any other religious sect. That's the problem with ALL religions -- for any one to be right, all the others who believe differently have to be wrong.

The truth is much simpler than that. All concepts of god are products of the human mind, as there is no proof of any kind that god exists. Any hatred or condemnation of gays is, therefore, simply an expression of the bigotry and predjudice of the people of a particular sect, and has nothing to do with any divine or spiritual anything. Your own concept of god is just as much a product of your own wishes and desires, and not based on any reality, as anyone else's.

Since the Dawn of Time man has a sought a higher power to explain what they dont understand and to set down societal rules on what is acceptable and what is not. So who is the real god? 'Religion is the opiate of the masses' to quote Sun Tzu

You write as if you are stating fact. But since your essay is not fact, its not a question of people knowing this. Its a question of whether or not they agree.

Basically, you are arguing that people should know that coke taste good and that advertisers and advertising hype take away from the experience.

In truth, though, you can only make this argument for yourself.

Interesting view and I tend to agree with your statement, however, what does this have to do with "The truth about gay people"? Are you suggesting that because organized religion can become corrupt that homosexuality is fine? (with God?).
