That's funny you'd mention this question, we were just talking about this. Once, in Jr. Hi a boy asked me if I was Chinese because "my eyes were squinty" (I actually just had a fat face at the time)
I had also been asked if I was Mexican...strange, I'm very fair skinned.
In college, people had me pegged as what they called a Jewish American Princess..not that it's a nice term, but they called me that because of my long dark hair, fair skin and impeccable fashion sense! :)
I'm now 42, and the concensus is closer to what I really am...people say I must be Scotch Irish and others say I look native american...Bingo! Bone structure of a Cherokee and coloring of a Scot!

I am Russian and partly from Caucasus (my father's father was from Karachayevo-Cherkessiya). When I was still in Kazakhstan (the country I was born in) I was once mistaken for a person from Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia), quite a few times for a Kazakh (people who just read my last name, which is similar to Kazakh) and once... He-he-he, an American!
Since I've been in the States I have been called Swedish, German, French, Austrian, Romanian, Polish a few other European nationalities. Some people before they see me if they know my last name think that I am Mexican, because for an American ear it (supposedly) sounds like a Mexican name.

Not me, I am just a plain ol' white girl, however my husband is Filipino and very often gets mistaked for a Mexican, we have been in the store and a Mexican will come up to him and start talking Spanish and he'll say what are you talking about?!? Also he has been mistaken for a Native American, a Vietnamese, Thailander. I think that is it.

I have been mistaken for Filipino, Portuguese, German, Hawaiian, Latina, Irish. Not all at the same time, lol. But I'm Chinese, Russian, and Japanese. In my opinion I look white with a bit of Asian because I have black hair.

I have been told that I look Haywain, Chinese, black, Portugal, and Mexican and Indian. Actually, I'm Guatemalan ,which is a country where mainly Spanish people live. It's interesting to see people try to guess my nationality!

People always think I'm mixed, black & any kind of asian ethnicity. Sometimes I get black and hawaiian, or black and latina. I'm definitely black, white and native american.... there may be more. Unfortunately a lot of that stuff is a mystery in my family.
