This is like the white after labor day question, everyone asks, and everyone has their own opinion. It isn't as tacky today as it used to be. But, personally, I always follow the don't mix brown and black rule. There are exceptions of course depending on the shade of the brown, and the amount of each color involved. In the end, it is your choice and your opinion as to what looks good, and what you feel confident in.

If it were me, I would buy the black pair as an investment, and then go out and buy a cheaper pair of trendier looking brown boots.

it really depends on the outfit and the shades if it is a light brown it can go with black but two dark colors are not so good.
If I were you i would get the black boots because black is so much better for fall/winter and boots are better for fall/winter. Then I would get a cute pair of brown ballet flats to go with the other outfits. They are much cheaper and still cute.

It all depends on what you are wearing, if you had a shirt that has brown and black in it with brown pants, yes black boots would go great but if you have brown, tan and light beige in a shirt and you have those color pants then i suggest u not wear black boots because you don't have anything on black. But black goes with anything.

Sure, brown clothing with black boots would be fine. The other way around though, not so good.

to me it sounds like it wouldnt look all that bad. my friend wore some brown boots the other day with a black shirt and it looked fine. i think you should go with the black ones because black will go with pretty much anything, even brown.

I wouldn't consider it to be tacky. If I were you I would buy the black pair because I would get more use out of them.

You can do what ever you want however what I think would tie it all up nice and neet for you is to have your accesories match if you are wearing black then go with Brown shoes, belt, stockings, and bag and vice versa. Accessories tie it all together

I think brown and black look good together... Just try to stray away from brown and red, or brown and pink, no go...oh wait you bought black boots? they will look good with anything.

of course you can wear brown with black. black is a universal color, which means any color will match black. and besides, brown and black are complementary colors, so there's no problem wearing them at the same time.
