Me and my boyfriend recently eloped in Vegas. Just wondering if any of you have or know anyone who has. How long have they lasted? Are they happy?

We got married in Montego Bay Jamacia - on a Pier - in our bathing suits.....PERFECT!

We have been happily married for 9 years and gong strong.

It doesn't matter when you do it - where you do it - what you have on - or even who is there. What matters is you BOTH know it is right and your willing to stick with each other through thick and thin!

Good Luck!

I've known people who have had it both ways. My best friend got married in Vegas to a guy she hadn't known for over a year and they are one of the happiest couples I know and still going strong after three years. But one of my cousins married a girl he eloped with and they only stayed together for four months. She thought his family had a lot of money because they went on a bunch of expensive trips but my uncle is a travel agent. So when she found out they didn't have money she left my cousin. So it just depends, you could be lucky. And it sounds like you knew your boyfriend for awhile before you eloped.

My mother and father were married in Vegas in a Cheesy Elvis chapel 30 years ago. They are still maried and very happy.

My sister and her husband were married in Vegas in a Church and they are still married, it's been 12 years. They are very happy and have 3 kids

My boss at work married his wife in Vegas, unknown at which chapel and they are still married, its been 22 years. They seem to be happy, they have 2 little boys.

My boyfriend married his 1st wife in Vegas at a wedding chapel and they were married 5 years, until she died of cancer. they were happy until she died, no kids.

My college roomate married her boyfriend in vegas, but they ended up getting a divorce 2 years later. They only knew each other for 6 months before they got married. I guess they were happy at first. No kids.

I guess it doesn't matter where you get maried, what matters is the love and respect you have for one another that will determine whether or not the marriage will survive.

I got married in Las Vegas 5 years ago, and surprisingly I'm still married to my husband. No,I'm not completely happy, but we've become too comfortable being together. I think he feels the same way too, but won't admit it. We've been together a total of 10 years.

My sister-in-law eloped there because she was pregnant and they stayed together for about 2 years. He wasn't a very nice guy.

My best friend did last year - they had been together for 10 years already, and decided that it was right for them. I obviously can't speak to how long it'll last, but they're happy right now and are happy that they did it their own way.

(Knowing them and their families, a big wedding would have probably just caused a lot of problems and friction between them.)
