It seems every U.S. official is clamoring over who gets to lick Israel's chocolate starfish. What is it? AIPAIC? Money? Fear? Israel has a parliamentary system. When was the last election in Syria? How many ayatollahs run the Israeli government?

The reason US supports Israel is because Israel is the ONLY country in the region that resembles the US itself.
Its people are free to vote, they are free to criticize the Government (sometimes in the most hateful ways), free to travel, free to own and operate businesses. They are just free, period. By saying "they", I mean Arabs as well as Jews.
You say "killing arabs". Bull sh*t! I've been to Israel, and every single Jew has some Arab friends, and every single Arab has some Jewish friend, and they don't kill each other.
