I am 37.4 weeks pregnant and I have recently heard that taking Robitussin while you are trying to conceive helps with the process due to the mucous thinning properties of the cold medication. As I thought about it some more, I recalled that I did take the medicine for a cold that I had in wintery Canada in January and it WAS during the time that we conceived! Crazy huh! Just curious...has anyone used it purposely to conceive and did it work? Thanks! :)

I've heard of this before. It is supposed to work with any over the counter medication that has mucus thinning properties. I'm not sure how effective it is, but it makes sense.

I haven't, but my friend has been trying it. It hasn't worked for her yet, but we're keeping our fingers crossed! Both times I have gotten pregnant, there have been no drugs involved, over the counter or otherwise.

Seems like I have heard that one, but I know when I was pregnant and had a bad cold, I was not to take it. Therefore, I wouldn't take it ttc either.
