Water has a molecuar mass of 18, this means it weights 18 g per mole. A mole is 6.0221415E23 molecules (Avogadro's number). If you have 1 g of water, you therefore have 1/18 of a mole, or 3.34E22 molecules. That is a lot. If you could count 1 billion molecules per second, you'd still need a million years to count them all.

1 mole of water = 18grams so 25grams of water = 25/18(1 mole) 1mole = 6x10^23 Molecules So 25/18(6x10^23) = the number of molecules in 25grams of water. That ok?

1mole = 6.02e23 molecules Water = 1 gram per mole 25g water = 25 moles 25 moles(6.02e23 molecules per mole) = 1.505e25 molecules

water is H2O, which means 2 H's and 1 O [but judging by the question you're posing, I suppose you already know that..]

the molar mass of H2O is 2(the molar mass of H)+1(the molar mass of O)

Hydrogen's molar mass is 1.01g and oxygen's 16g (both rounded)

2(1.01)+16=18.02g

Now, you say it's only one gram, that will be 1/18.02 of a mole.

Each mole has 6.022*10^23 atoms [Avogadro's number].

moles*number of molecules per mole=number of molecules!

so

1/18.02*6.022(10^23)=VERY approximately (10^23)/3, or ~3333333333333333333333.33333.... molecules. Scientifically expressed: 3.333*10^22

result is very approximate, to find the actual number do
6.022(10^23)/18.02.

1 mol H2O -> 2*1+16=18g H2O
x mol H2O -> 1g H2O
x = 1/18 moles are in 1 g H2O
in 1 mole they are 6.023*10^23 molecules
so in 1g H2O you have 6.023*10^23/18 molecules
6.023*10^23 is the Avogadro's constant that defines the mole
