I can understand the emotion, but not the hatred behind answers like "He shouldn't even get a trial". It is both fortunate and unfortunate that those of us in the US are so long removed from a system of government that does not allow fair trials for the accused. If the Iraqui's are going to have a true democratic system of government a fair and just legal system, regardless of the defendant is key. While many may wish no trial at all for such a man as Saddam, there could be no more tragic start for a democracy than to punish without trial. Don't fool yourself, if you do away with a system of impartial justice it will not be only the guilty that suffer.

His trial had became right into a Kangaroo court docket with all the interuptions and murders for the time of it. you may remember that there is a distinction between a court docket verdict and his actual guilt. replaced into there any doubt that he dedicated the crimes he replaced into accused of? No. Did the government have sufficient evidence to link him? i do no longer know. i've got no longer been following the trial heavily adequate. Do i think of any of this concerns? No. could I be unhappy if, after reading the trial transcript, I got here to the tip the prosecution never did teach his guilt previous a actual looking doubt (or regardless of prevalent of evidence this court docket needed)? No. Am I happy he's off this earth. You guess.

Well Les, I don"t see how he can ever have a fair trial, but then again why should he have a trial, he"s as guilty as hell. Ask the Kurds, ask any of the relatives of the people he had dragged out, tortured and shot. It"s just a waste of time, money and effort. Take him into the courtyard and have him shot. End of problem.

If I had my way, there wouldn't have been a trial. I would have killed him in the spider hole and claimed self defense.
But I suppose since that didn't happen, I don't care if he gets a fair trial. Is there anyone out there that would seriously defend this man? Anyone outside of his cabinet and his lawyer that is?
Have a great day!!!

Same as here-Guilty until proven innocent. I don't know why we are wasting money on a trial. He's guilty. Do you really believe he could ever be found innocent anywhere in this world? I certainly hope not. I just wonder what his punishment will be.
