I remember employment ads in the newspaper from (a well-known college) that, at the bottom, read:
An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.

I had to laugh. You can't be both. "Affirmative Action" means that you'll give greater consideration to someone from a background which, historically, has been underrepresented in your work force. That doesn't sound like "Equal Opportunity" to me.

I do not think that there is such a thing as "Reverse Racism". Racism is not exclusive to one race or ethinicity. Anyone that is discriminated against, because of their race is a victim of racism. This concept of reverse racism seems redundant. The reverse of racism, would be its oppposite. In that case, reverse racism would be, racial acceptance.

The motives behind my reasoning would be the fact that people who use the term "Reverse Racism" do so because they are not cognizant of what racism truly is. They believe it to be specific to only certain groups. Sadly, racism affects all ethnic backgrounds.

Reverse racism, give me a break. Racism is exercised from a position of power, and Blacks don’t have any real power against whites collectively to deny whites access to opportunity. However, Blacks can and have been prejudiced against whites. So you have prejudice, which is showing a distaste for someone either because of their race or skin tone or the cut of their jib, or what have you; and you have racism, which is the use of prejudice by someone in power or a power structure to deny someone opportunity because of their race and/or ethnicity. By this definition, Blacks cannot exercise reverse racism against Whites. At least not here in America. Maybe in Zimbabwe or something.

Their is no such thing a reverse racism to the "White race" that the "White Race" didn't cause their self. The way they stop reverse racism was Jim Crow or 100 years of lynching, we all know if you even look at a white man the wrong way they would kill you. Or just let a white girl say you rape her, even if your 8years old and smile at her you were a dead man.

if you're talking about with affirmative action, the only reason that it has become racism is because the term has been bastardized. affirmative action is supposed to be the action taken if a person is discriminated against when searching for a job, etc. no matter the race, sex, religion, etc. so basically, if you're a white christian male and you get turned down from a job because of it, then you need to look into affirmative action. it doesn't just apply to minority groups.

I'm a black guy. I'm not sure what you mean by "reverse racism". Do you mean when when one race who was discriminated against, become racist towards the discriminator? Many black people are racist towards whites, and white to blacks, and blacks are extremely racist towards other blacks, and I've seen whites a bit racist towards other whites.

The reason for it is stupidity all the same. As a black guy, other black people have been more racist against me than whites, which I find amusing in an irritating sort of way.

You may experience reverse descrimination, but it's rare for someone to experience reverse privilege. No matter how much a person from a privileged group feels descriminated against, it can't compare to descrimination against someone from a group with fewer privileges. It is abuse of privilege that leads to true racism. (And if you think everyone in US society has naturally been born into the same privileges, you are very naive.)

there will always be hate unfortunately. It is in our nature and hard wired into us as a society. Regardless of the millions of people against it, it will never go away simply because there will always be a group of people who blame another group for there shortcomings, disadvantages, economic instability, etc.
