would consider allstar cheerleading with the stunts and tumbling a sport??? i did it for 4 years and its hard really hard mentally and pysically but people say it isnt a sport! what do u think?

It is more than a sport. Not only do you have to have tremendous abilties. Great coordination and enthusiam. You also have to be entertaining and good looking :-)

I don't think it is a sport, it is cheering for a team that is playing sport. You do need rhythm, grace, balance to do the cheers and dances but you don't have a game with a score with one on one competition. Most of the fans are there to view the actual sport that is being played, football, basketball. Cheerleaders add to the experience of the sport being played.

Cheerleading is not a sport. It's an athletic exhibition.
It's similar to gymnastics and figure skating in that regard, in that competitions are decided by subjective judging.
Don't be offended, that doesn't mean it's not hard. Nor does it mean cheerleaders aren't athletes; some of them are incredibly athletic and probably in better shape than some who do play a "sport."

Cheerleading is def a sport, esp the Allstars because it is a form of gymnastics and if rhythmic gymnastics gets the tittle of being a sport so should competitive cheering.

Yea it's a sport. Lot of friends of mine are cheerleaders and I have worked out running and stuff like that and i also have played football and some of the stuff football does is cake compared to cheerleading.

Cheerleading is a sport I would know because the Colts have cheerleaders do not listen to the peole that say it isn't and your friend is saying that to they really aren't your friend.

i think it is a sport, because it involves exercise, but not a very great one. cheerleaders are basically there for the men to gawk at in short skirts.

i think that it is you are so right it really is hard I've done it for a year then had to stop for a year because of my ankle and i really can't wait to try out next year it's hard but so fun!!
