Usually, as long as a rabbit is acting and eating fine, I don't worry about temperature. That being said, a rabbit's ears should not be really warm if the room the rabbit is in is relatively cool. A rabbit uses it's long ears to regulate it's body temperature, so if the bunny has been racing around the room, and then stops, the his ears would be really warm until he cools back down. Given that a rabbit's ears are used as a "Bunny air conditioner" so to speak, no, you cannot judge a rabbit's actual body temperature too acurately by the feel of his ears. The only way to get an acurate temperature is to take a rectal temperature. I wouldn't be too worried about it unless he starts acting differently (not eating, not drinking, etc...). If he starts acting out of the ordinary, take him to a rabbit-savy vet for a check up.

He is probably fine

Rabbits are most comfortable in temsp from 50-70F If it sis warmer than this.. he may be hot

Ice in his water will help or putting a block of ice in a dish or a fan etc...

Yes you can use many of the new ear thermometers that you use on dogs for rabbits. Each device will state what animals it can be used on... Be sure to read directions and place it in the correct place to get an accurate read.

Never use a glass thermometer !

If it were me ..I would call my Vet justt o be sure... You can get advice out here but you dont know any o fus or whether we are at all qualified to give that advice... so if it were me Id call my VET.

Good Luck

I'm sorry to listen to that. One factor you must examine is that if she's consuming good. She would simply be a mommy's lady. But for the reason that you don't have any cash for the vet and dont' understand, why do not you pass in your nearest library and examine out a e-book approximately the wellbeing of a rabbit. A e-book from the second there born to while there older. Hope that is helping.

Humans have a normal temp of about 98.6; dogs have a normal temp of 102; rabbits have a normal body temperature between 101 and 103. Your bunny's ears are its air conditioners. Take a look at this Web site and it will explain a lot about bunny ears.

i'm sorry to hearken to that. one ingredient you're able to envision is that if she's ingesting properly. She would desire to easily be a mommy's female. yet given which you haven't any longer have been given any funds for the vet and dont' be responsive to, why do no longer you pass on your nearest library and look at a e book with reference to the well-being of a rabbit. A e book from the 2nd there born to while there older. wish that facilitates.

He is probably ok, but if u think he may be getting a heat stroke wet your hands and add a bit of water to the tip of his ears to cool him down..
Unless he dosn't move at All, then take him to a vet ASAP.

The BEST way to get a reliable answer to your question is to call a vet's office and ask. DO NOT rely on Yahoo Answers for either a correct or straight answer.

All small furry animals operate at a much higher temp than humans.

If he acts fine he probably is. Just make sure he eats, drinks, and poops normally.
