Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan.....? And Why?

Each Bond...up till this new one came up....was good in their own way and merit:

Connery: Irish actor who convincingly portrayed the playful, but steel edged British Secret Service agent, licensed to kill---and at times hated it. A closer look into the Connery Bond shows a man wrestling with the stresses of being a lethal servant dispatched to save the world.

Lazenby: Never really a Bond contender--and he knew it. Still, he had a brief fling of fun spoofing with Casino Royale--and it's amazing Fleming didn't irreparably damage the whole Bond franchise.

Moore: Very British. Hit well with the handsome/dashing facet of James Bond. Moore was a tad more playful and mainstream Hollywood---but he delivered the goods on cue.

Dalton: Very on cue w/ the British look and debonair allure of Bond. But Dalton was more darker/intense--and his Bond films came at a touchy time of early "political correctness".

Brosnan: Secretly was tapped quite early (before Dalton, to be exact) to be a Bond successor to Moore; legal ensnarements with NBC's "Remmington Steele" kept him from it. Once freed of the contract(s), Brosnan WOWed Bond fans as being, in my personal opinion, the best Bond since Connery.

I don't know enough of this new guy who currently has the Bond flim position. I've seen the trailer and am sick to think the Ian Flemming estate would allow this man to play James Bond; and I think if Flemming were alive, he too would balk at this decision.

Each Bond film is an original; the ressurection of Casino Royale confirms this "new" Bond is an ill fated decision; I'm still debating if I want to even see this film redux.

As a kid I liked Roger Moore better. I think that was because all the new movies that were coming out was with him. Looking back, though, I think if anyone says anything other than Sean Connery they should never be allowed to watch another movie or voice their opinion again! Sean Connery was, and still is, the man who embodied the ideal of James Bond. No one has a better voice, no one else can give that smile that makes women melt and makes men cringe with fear. Every man wants to be him, and every woman wants to be with him. Sean Connery is still that way, at 70+ years old. No one else who has played James Bond was as manly as Sean Connery in their early years, and none of them will be in their 70's.

No question, Connery is the only Bond! The others are just sad imposters. (Brosnan wasn't bad though)

Pierce Brosnan. Pierce Brosnan was in Goldeneye. Best bond movie/bond game ever. He is forever james bond for a whole generation. Connery was too but Brosnan i think was able to draw the largest fan base and was the best Bond overall.

Connery was/IS the only Bond b/c he actually got hurt when fighting & therefore seemed more human. Roger Moore's Bond never had a hair out of place. Lazenby was boring, so was Timothy Dalton. Brosnan was too femmy to be Bond for my taste. My youngest daughter coulda *****-slapped Pierce Brosnan.
