You should report this to the Better Business Bureau . Businesses are not allowed to take money from your check because they are broke, especially if you worked for it.
You can look up the BBU in your local phonebook.

If you're planning to do this full time you'll need a tax number, available from your county tax assessor - otherwise you can get in big trouble with IRS eventually. You'll also need to set aside an amount of money to pay the taxes with. You can get reasonably-priced business cards made with your new company name and phone number, post them at WalMarts, Sams, etc., anywhere there's a bulletin board available for customers. It's really poor ethics to try to take business from your former boss, but it's not a bad practice to have some flyers printed stating what you do, and leave them at buildings you've worked in. If your boss is the jerk he/she seems (and yes, it's illegal to take money you've earned just because they're broke) his customers are probably not real happy, and flyers announcing a new business will let them know there are other people willing and ready to get the job done right. If your state has an unemployment office, you can ask them where to report the theft of your money, also. Texas has an office that will actually sue your former employer for your money, and get it for you - or they did, I know for sure, in 2001, as my husband and I had to use it to get a guy to pay us back wages. Good luck!

You really have no choice. if they are having financial troubles, then you are lucky all then did was take $100 and not your job. Get out now, either join a different company or like you said do the cleaning service on your own.

a tip from a person that was working for an employer that was having problems with there checks. GO TO THE BANK THAT THE CHECK IS DRAWN ON! Then if the check is hot your bank won't hold you responsible and take the money out of your account!

If the compamy is in financial difficulties, then they had to inform and discuss with you on the pay cut prior to doing so. If you disagree to the cut, then you may have the option to leave the company.

Report this to your local "Workforce Comission". They investigate payroll investigations. But I'd suggest talking to your boss and tell him you are considering this line of action before you do.

If they're having trouble making payroll, that's a BAD sign. Start looking for a new job.
