Replace the radiator cap and the thermostat first before doing anything else

AS ALWAYS START WITH THE EASIEST AND CHEAPEST FIRST
CHECK OR REPLACE THE RADIATOR CAP
IF IT IS NOT HOLDING PRESSURE IT WILL ALLOW THE COOLANT THAT IS EXPANDING AND UNDER PRESSURE WHEN HOT TO BE FORCED INTO THE OVERFLOW RESERVOIR
IF THE CAR HAS NOT HAD A THERMOSTAT CHANGED THIS WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO DO IT
IS THE CAR RUNNING HOT ?
DO YOU HAVE HEAT INSIDE OR COLD AIR ?
THOSE ARE SOME INDICATIONS OF A STUCK STAT
U DIDNT SAY WHAT YEAR OR ENGINE SO I DONT KNOW IF YOU HAVE AN ELECTRIC FAN OR NOT
WORST CASE COULD BE A HEAD GASKET LEAK WHICH ALLOWS COMPRESSION TO LEAK INTO THE COOLING SYSTEM CAUSING EXCESSIVE PRESSURE
GOOD LUCK

There are three possables here: one you have over filled the system, the pressure cap has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
The last one is exspences to fix either you have a bad head gasket or a crack in the head or block and cyclner pressure is getting into your system. Also your heater core may be air bond, it happens.
OR SOME THING IS BLOCKING THE AIR FLOW THROUGH THE RAditor. Have some one that knows something check it out for you soon or you could ruin the raditor, air conditioner core, or engine.

it is getting too hot. have the radiator cap checked to see if it holding the correct amount of pressure. if it is, check or replace the thermostat. there are several other things that could cause this condition. but these 2 are the easiest and cheapest places to start.
