Lennon. Greater musician, greater mastermind of the Beatles sound. McCartney is good, but not great like Lennon.

Are you kidding me, Lennon without a doubt. Paul played it safe the whole time the Beatles were together. John took chances and wrote some amazing songs. Paul could never write "I am the Walrus" but John could have easily written "Yesterday." Either way they were probably the two best song writers ever aside from Bob Dylan.

George was the best Beatle by far. More likeable & a really decent bloke. No doubting the incredible song writing talent of Paul & John however. Out of them, I'd go for Lennon.

As Beatles they complimented each other and produce some of the best songs ever. Post Beatles, definitely John Lennon. His music was better and more meaningful, and the quality of his output more consistent. I mean, c'mon! "The Girl is Mine", "Silly Love Songs", "Ebony and Ivory" - what the heck was Mac thinking?? And John was a more fascinating personality, albeit controversial.

Lennon because I'm sure if he had lived he would have had a huge influence on the chart today and I can't really think what Paul's done other than marry Heather Mills

Well, it took all four of them to make it The Beatles but McCartney was by far the better musician, composer, and vocalist.
