Chiropractic isn't an alternative to anything because it's the only profession that lines up your spine. No other profession does this. now, if your in pain because of misaligned vertebrae, then yes, it's a hell of alot better than pain meds that will destroy your liver or cortizone shots that will rob your bones of calcium and make you gain weight. And normally once you start to see a chiro, you do go forever to stay lined up. I go once a month just to make sure everything is straight. Remember, those same nerves that get pinched in your spine make your body work. They come out of the spine and got to your organs, glands, and tissues. Taking pain pills doesn't fix anything...it just hides the problem. Oh and by the way. MD's have their protocol to follow. They have never been taught to manipulate the spine, so they don't. Their protocol is prescriptions, injections, and surgeries.

More info, please. An alternative to what? Many chiropractors claim that their treatments can cure everything from acne to xenophobia. If you have a spinal alignment problem, chiropractic can be the best thing for it, but in most cases, chiropractic treatments won't keep you from going bald or make you more fertile. Well it could help you conceive if you are avoiding sex because your back hurts...use common sense when making health care choices.

I believe in it myself stop and think of it this way before i tell you about what it has done for us. your spin proteces the nurves that sends signials to and from your brain to the rest of your body if the nurve is cut off your body won't know if it hurts, or needs to work . like your car if you have a bad spark plug wire it does not let the power threw your car does not run right and the gas milage is not as good right . that is like your body your nerves are like the spark plug wires. I have a girl that has been healty for 10 yrs she goes to see the chiropractor once a month . yes she gets a runny nose but has never been really sick . a dr. told me i had restless leg syndrome and wanted me to take meds. for it i went to see my chiro dr . he gave me an ajustment an i have not had to take one pill and that has been about 9 yrs ago and i have not had any problem with my legs since so you can judge for your self but i would check all the chiro dr. before i went to one ask around to find the best for you . good luck and god bless oh and by the way chiro dr. have more training in nerve and nutrition than the regular medecal dr.

Personally, I don't believe in them. Cracking a person's spine is NOT normal and they aren't medical doctors....they are "doctors of chiropractic medicine." No way.
On the other hand, I know people who swear by them--but that they say if they go to them for a while and then stop, they have a lot of pain and problems.
If you have back problems, I would suggest at least going to a medical doctor and having it checked out. Orthopedic doctor would be a good idea too.

I use one for my back pain but it seems like I need him all the time. It does feel good when I go. I walk out smiling ever time! We manage my pain without meds. When I see the family doctor all I get are meds. I don't like taking them. A good professional massage helps.

Yes, for the most part. It can relieve headaches, back/neck pain and overall make you feel better. But if you start, don't stop. Once you stop, your pains will keep coming back. Its a quick easy nonsurgical way to relieve pain but it does not last unless treatment is continued.

Yes, I believe firmly that a chiropractor who has studied more then 6 years is better then a general practitioner.

You have to be careful to find the right chiropractor, don't believe the ones that say they can cure all sorts of diseases.

nothing should be an alternative. Always use to complement regular healthcare and make sure you go to a reputable practitioner.
