no, because they could end up easily hurting you as they are not tamed or trained. be careful if you do get one.

In fact it is against the law. The only legal way you can posess a wild not domestic animal is if you are a sanctuary, a rehabber, or other animal facility or you gain a permit from your local authorities.
There are cases of folks having animals that were taken to rehabbers and could not return to the wild...
But again you can get into ALOT of trouble if you dont do it legally... Jail and HUGE 10,000.00 fines etc...
It is even illegal in most states to even touch a wild animal.
Its rarely enforced.. and working with wildlife .. I will touch an animal if I need to to help it..regardless...but
You should also be aware that most WILD animals carry things that we humans dont like... lice, various parasites(some very harmful to humans), samonella you name it... It may not make them sick but it can be bad for people...
You see all the wildlife shows and how cute the animals are but what you dont know is there is another side they dont show...
I can tell you tons of stories about folks trying to keep racoons, one had a child die because of a parasite they were infected with,.. Snakes , coons, bears, you name it...
Not a good idea.
If the animal is hurt call a rescuer or rehab center..
Also make sure you are talking about a wild animal and not somebodies released pet.
I would not keep any kind of Wild animal...
Hope this helps....

There are laws restricting what wild animals may be kept. Permits are often required and many wild animals are permitted. I think it is wrong to cage a wild animal. That's not what pets are for. And there is always a danger to yourself and others around wild animals. It's not worth a severe injury or a death.

No. Wild animals are best left in the wild. They have entirely different characteristics than domesticated animals such as dogs and cats. Wild animals do not make good pets at all.

I am not going to answer this question from a 'moral' standpoint.
Just what I know about the facts.
Most states have laws and regulations to what kind of wild animals you can keep. Sometimes there exceptions if you are caring for an injured animal. You really need to call your local conservation agent or extension center to find out for sure. I

wild animals should be enjoyed in their natural surroundings. Would you like to be grabbed, stuck in a cage, and stared at after living life free? They are not domesticated. They will never become "buddies" with you. There are all sorts of domesticated animals that are different. You should be able to find a domesticated animal that would suit your needs/temperment. A wild animal will always be just that...wild.

The words 'wild' and 'pet' should not be used to describe the same animal.

No it could be very dangerous for you and your family... the animal could have a sickness or lice, fleas, or ticks... or could easily hurt you. Call the nearest animal control and they'll pick it up and release it back to the wild where wild animals belong.

I would not think it wise to keep wild pets. I would say : do do at your own risk" and do not endanger others.

It is often illegal. In some places, exotic pets are also illegal.
It is certainly not wise. You can contact your local government, animal control, etc. to find out what is legal in your area.
