Why is it that the lazy *** are the ones that are getting so much free money from the gov't. People make thier living off of welfare, child support, disability(those who fake it), unemployment, and food stamps. It pisses my off how those people can have 20 kids and have the gov't pay for each one. If you want to have kids, MAKE SURE YOU CAN AFFORD IT!!!!!!
And there is jobs out there. You just need to look. When you really want to work and need it you'll settle for anything.

I lump everything together because usually with these people if you live off of one you live off all of them.

Back up a second here, slick. Don't blame the people on welfare -- blame the liberals for manipulating the system so they'll get voted back into office every 2, 4 and 6 years. Here's the problem: You apply for welfare and you get on it. Now, let's say you're an honest individual who wants to work (as many people on welfare are) and you go out and find a part-time job making $150.00 a week. Guess what happens when the welfare office finds out about it? Your welfare is cut by $150.00 a week! That is EXACTLY what happened to my sister-in-law and her husband. Why would anyone go out and work if they can get the same amount of money by sitting at home doing nothing? To add insult to injury, when the Republicans talk about welfare reform and job skills training for people on welfare so they can get jobs that pay well enough so they won't NEED welfare anymore, the whiny-@$$ liberals go to the welfare recipients and say "The big bad Republicans want to take away your welfare!" See how it's big scam?
Now, of course there are those who keep squeezing out more kids that they can't feed in order to get more welfare, but most states have closed that loophole by saying they'll only pay for a certain amount of children (primarily because they can't afford it anymore). My attitude there is cut 'em off at two children and if they have a third then tell them they have to have a tubal ligation if they want to continue collecting welfare...

some people really do need it. now, what the ratio of legitimate/lazy is, I have no idea. you'll get a different answer from anyone you ask. But the kind of people that you are mad about make me just as sick.
what I've figured about it, is 2 things. 1: There are supposed to be checks and balances with those programs. People on unemployment are required to at least TRY to find work, etc. Whoever is resposible for enforcing that end of that system is not doing enough. and 2: and I really believe this is the NUMBER ONE problem in this country, is that the people who are least equipped, least prepared to properly raise a child, are the MOST likely to HAVE children. Having not been raised worth a damn themselves, how are they supposed to raise a kid.

The reason why they do it is because they can get more out off of the dole then they can working for minimum wage, where after you deduct taxes, transportation and child care leaves this lazy ones as you so eloquently put it with the choice of paying rent or buying food. What we need is a total reform, in California you have 5 years total on welfare after wich time you better have increased your employability but ready or not you are cut off.

Your question assumes that people are below the poverty line because they simply are lazy. I don't believe this to be the cause for poverty in many cases. There are plenty of working poor out there--go into any Wal Mart, for example, and you will see plenty of hard working people living on very little money. Have you read "Nickeled & Dimed", it's a great book that discusses the the topic that you raise. Good luck toyou as you struggle with you feelings on the subject.

I'd like to find some country where I will be taken seriously in the Maths or Physics professions. I'm looking at all these responses and wondering where people get the idea that KKKanada is ideal for brown-skinned women with college degrees in the "hard" sciences. I'm actually First Nations (American "Red" Indian) and born in Canada and my own country treats me like a "foreigner from overseas." Or, because I got my education in various States, an "American 'Black" person." When I correct people and then tell them what all my degrees are in, then they get really disgusting and have their damn hands all over me like I'm just a body part. That's in CANADA, people. Montreal to be exact. Now you may tell me that I should have tried an English-speaking part of Canada but I hear from my fellow First Nations women that "out West" it's even worse and the manhandling of Aboriginal women is into the stratosphere. and Canada is like number two in the world for human rights violations against our own Aboriginal women. And it gets worse the darker your skin is, especially if you have an education above and beyond the Bachelor's degree.

People live off of welfare because they have been programed by liberals to think they are only receiving what is due them. Why do you lump child support and unemployment into the welfare question? I do agree if you are on public assistance then the number of children brought into this society also needs to be limited. If a limit is set then people won't go by that limit.

I totally agree with you . if the gov't would make them work instead of letting make welfare a way of life there would be alot less crime too. They would be too busy working to have time to be robbing places. Everytime I see somebody with like 9 kids in the grocery store whip out food stamps it makes me cringe. I had 2 kids,no husband and was working full time and taking care of all of my home i still could not get food stamps .I was paying all of the bills too . At the end of the week me and my kids had 50.00 to buy food . According to food stamps that was 50.00 too much. it makes me sick.

Some people get stuck in a bad situation and live off welfare for a period of time. Others make it their career. It isn't fair and the system is always trying to find the bad ones and get them off but it isn't easy.

I agree with your statement and These people ARE TOO LAZY TO WORK and want to sponge off the rest of us
who work our butts off to make sure our families have food on the table and a roof over our heads. They should
put these people into the military or a work-fare associa-
tion cleaning up the highways, vacant lots,SCPAs, Hospitals or any where that needs help!!!!

It's the Liberals paying for votes. Keeping them dependant to keep the votes coming. I believe welfare is only for people who truly cannot help themselves.
By the way, corvuequis, welfare is for entry level jobs, not meant to be for supporting families. Not my responsibility to support others kids.
