Short, and the carpet should match the drapes.

I don't think it much matters. What MIGHT matter, at some point, is whether you're willing to alter your preferred look for a specific role. Several years ago, I was casting a production of Eric Overmyer's "On The Verge," which is one of my favorite plays of the last 30 years or so. An actor came to the audition who would have been PERFECT in the play's only male role (one actor plays 8 different parts!). The guy had very long hair, and I asked him whether he'd be willing to cut it. His answer was an emphatic "NO"...and I crossed him off the list. I respected his choice, but, if he wasn't willing to wear his hair short, he wasn't right for my show. That's the risk you run if you insist on one particular look/style.

It's all just a matter of personal preference. I actually have short hair and guys just like it. And i prefer a person with short hair over a person with long hair because long hair tends to make guys look as well girly.

On the whole it seems that the majority of parts available to male characters require the actor to have short hair, so it would seem you give yourself more options with short hair.

Be yourself, either long or short hair. Be yourself! You never know what the casting directors are looking for....And, if cast, you can always cut your hair, if too long, or wear a long haired wig.
A friend has a long, ugly black scrawly beard. He just got cast as a terrorist in the next movie "Homeland Security" because he looked the part. Never acted in his life!!!! Good luck!

Depends on your look, most men look better with short hair, if you are wanting to look like a biker, or 70's rock star, go long, otherwise short is usually better.

Have your hair any way you want!
You may get a part where you have to have long hair. If they tell you to cut it, only do it if your getting paid!!
But keep it clean and nice looking!
Good luck!!
