tell me if you agree. the last time tim mcgraw sings the chorus to 'live like you were dying' it woulda been more of a powerful meaning if he instead of saying 'and he said'. it woulda been cool if he said 'and i say to you i hope you get the chance, to live like you were dying. do you agree

it would have been better if he said, " so listen, I hope one day you get the chance, to live like you were dying". I totally agree with your sentiments, just trying to fit the phrase better. "so listen" is 3 syllables as is " and he said".

They say hind sight is 20-20. I am sure that Tim would appreciate it if you contacted him and gave him your idea.
Then again since the song is about his father Tug McGraw who died of cancer just a couple of years ago, maybe he left it that way for a reason.
