Change was awesome, but Shannon Hoon wasn't gonna be the kind of guy that lives to middle or old age.
Kurt, Jimmy, and Janis are other examples.
The only one I know of that beat the system somehow is Perry Farrell from Janes Addiction, but he has been pretty quiet lately.
