Please I'm losing my freaking mind here. What do you think is going on in this show? I cant see any way the producers could wrap all this up without it being incredibly cheesy and I will be pissed because I LOVE this show. Anybody, give me some dieas, what do you think. Why are they there? Why are all of them intertwined in some way? Who are the others?

Three things, they are either trapped in what was known as Atlantis or they are caught in a time wharp or someone is dreaming the whole thing and I would put my money on Hurley since he use to be in a psychiatric ward. What ever it is, is a good show that keeps you on your toes. Is about time they created something like this for T.V. It makes for a very exciting one hour for me.

I love this show, too!!

This isn't an easy question. LOL Let's see ... I think that it was planned for all of these people to be together. I read somewhere (on www.thefuselage.com) that there is a mathematical theory that says one can figure out incidents in the future with this theory and even be able to manipulate it. I think this was what happened and that Hanso and/or the DeGroots put this together using this theory as one of their many experiments. I don't think the plane was supposed to crash but land and that Desmond (and Kelvin) knew about it. The plane's crashing was an accident. I think that there are other people on that plane (that died) that also had connections to those that survived and we'll find that out eventually.

I think that they are on either a man-made island or a real one but either way, the electromagnetic gizmo in the Swan was a cloaking device that kept them hidden from the rest of the world.

I think the Others are some of the DHARMA scientists and assistants that concluded that Hanso (and maybe even the DeGroots) were dangerous and they've broken off (hence Henry's comment to Michael that they're the good guys). Since the island was cloaked, they were stuck there and even though they're against DHARMA now, they couldn't go anywhere. I think, too, in S3 we're going to see that they are still doing experiments but now for their own "good." Now, whether they really are the "good guys" or not, that I don't know. I am certain, tho, that they see themselves as the good guys.

But don't fret about the story being wrapped up in a cheesy way. These writers and producers have the end figured out and they will tie it all up. Not everyone will be happy with their conclusion, but that's just life ... can't please everyone, but it'll all make sense. Keep in mind that JJ Abrams and Carlton Cuse and David Lindeloff has always said that the show uses pseudo science so it won't be "proved" explanations but it will be done within "possible" scientific connections and explanations.

LOST is Tsol backwards and Tsol stands for True Sounds Of Liberty (its a punk band). Then STOL is the scrambled version that stands for Short Take off & Landing craft - a secret US military experimental aircraft .... ok seriously.....

I have a love hate relationship with LOST. (why do most people capitalizing the word lost? Oh no! its getting into us all!) Well, the first few episodes I tried decrypting it to see if I can predict the story of the "mystery" behind it all.

The more I watched it, I realized that this a whole different kind of story (at least out of ones that I have seen so far to that point). The main difference is that it's goal is purely to keep you glued for wanting more. Usually, in even the most complex thriller plots there is a question and the whole story is based on finding answers to those questions. Instead this one keeps coming up with more things to wonder about and less answers. Or at least if there are answers they make sure there are many more new questions.

Now here comes my theory. I'm 99% confident that not even the writers, producers and directors or anybody for that matter know anything about what "it" is all about or if there is a common uniting factor in the whole story. There is no theory. There is no explanation for everything. It's just a TV show that was designed to go on and on until the people start puking at the sound of it.

Why do I love it? Well I believe it is cleverly done to capture the audience. Why do I hate it? Despite the fact I know it is all a trick and there won't be a satisfying "aha!" moment at the end, I still keep watching it like an idiot!

(Oh wait.. maybe I'm part of an experiment.. to see how long I can take LOST! Ok, I'm making a raft alone and nobody comes with me.. aaahhhh!!!)

Btw, l.o.s.t also stands for:

Law of the Sea Treaty
Liberty Owners Special Team
Line Of Sight Tasking
Linux One Stanza Tips
Looking Over Strange Terrain

Ok, get to work theory makers! .. and as for 4 8 15 16 23 42? ah, forget it!... oh no.. am I not supposed to post it on the internet? Damn.. we are all doomed.

Are you kidding? EVERYONE has theories on LOST, even people who don't watch it. I'm personally leaning toward the scientific experiment explanation, where the whole plane wreck was staged, and these people were intentionally guided/led to the island to be observed and tested. But who knows? Maybe it's all another dream of Bobby Ewing's (you're probably too young to even understand the reference to Dallas).

the others are the people who hav lived on this island for many years and jack, john lock and sawyer met the others and they had kate with them and they said they will kill her if they dont give him their guns and stuff so they did and the others also said that walt was safe and they told them to leave the island cause the island belonged to them ,they came back and now they are trying to figure out a way to defend themselves and they also burnt a part of the place where jack n everyone lives..........

I think it all revolves around Hurley. Everyone is connected to him in one way or another. I think it's all going to be something about him being in that institution. Maybe it's just all in his head.

I think it is what it is......no conspiracy theories or purgatory....I think the writers want you to think its a weird, parallel something, with odd forces at work, but I think in the long run....they'll just get rescued from the island.

I think they might all be in a coma and are having their brains washed.
