I am a freshman and college. So far I've only had 3 black teachers ( all female) out of the 11 classes I've had. It seems like if a black teacher is a minority at a school, some of them try to prove themself more. Does anyone notice this or is this just me? P.S. One of my my black teacher is young, she is real cool.

Why don't you ask the young teacher if she agrees with your question? I worked with black teachers for 35 years. They didn't have to prove anything to anyone except that they could teach. In college all teachers are under a bit of strain because they rarely have tenure. Non-tenured teachers do not have job security so they sometimes work harder to keep their jobs.
Talent comes in all colors.
