Yes, I know what you mean. It's like you can call your idiot punk brother an idiot punk all day long, but if another kid calls him that, you're all over them.
However, if someone is making a valid point I agree with, then I will agree and not have any false pride about it. After all, it is my COUNTRY I love, not Bush or some of the elected(?) officials that misuse their power and aren't taking care of things. Sometimes people from other countries clump the American people together with the president as if because our leaders appear arrogant and greedy and materialistic and ignorant, all the people are too. That's when we have to clarify things for them.

I think it's very dangerous to do so under the current situation. All these countries are bad mouthing and considering bring down the united states I believe in part based on the feeling the many Americans are ready to be controlled by another country. I'm serious. All the trash talking coming out of American mouths is making us weak.

I don't get mad when other countries bash Americans and Bush. I just wish they would realize that not all Americans are the same and that really not that many of us voted for him.

I get equally annoyed when US citizens badmouth our president.
It is not that I have any deep love for President Bush. However, like it or not, he is the President of this country. One should at least respect the office if not the man.

I think everyone regardless of their beliefs should at least respect the people in charge.
I don't care that much when I hear foreigners talk bad about him, but I tend to get upset if Americans do it.
Criticizing and questioning is one thing but out and out childish behavior is another. We have lost respect for everything in this country including ourselves.

As long as you *identify* with someone or something, otherwise you won't feel offended.
In what ways are you identified with Bush?
