I've got a fear of heights, have done for ages. One trick I've learned to getting over a phobia is trying to understand why you have the fear in the first place. In my case, when I was a child my parents would take me to a dentist who just happened to be on the forth floor of a building that had a very steep staircase between levels. I can shut my eyes and see the stairs even now and I'm 99% sure that's what did it for me. What is it particular that makes you wobbly about Roller-coasters? Is it the Speed, the Heights, the thought of flying through the air with hardly any visible means of support or all of the above. If you can narrow down what it is and try to remember, if possible, where that fear has come from then that's one up to you against Mr Phobia. Then you try and face the fear itself as directly as you can. A couple of weeks ago I took my Wife through to the Wallace Monument, by Stirling, with the intention of climbing to the top. The first stage is pretty easy as it's all enclosed but from the second level to the top you're walking up a spiral staircase with long narrow vents in it so you can see outside and so the gale force winds blow in and with size 8 steps for my size 11 feet. . My legs were like jelly by the time we reached the top but Wow....what a view! I know I'm always going to have this thing about heights but I don't let it govern me. Neither should you.

If you're anything like me, you won't. I had the life terrified out of me at a local funfair on a big wheel when I was about 10 or 11 by these lads my dad put me in with who were supposed to be taking care of me. At the top they were swinging the seat and thought it was hilarious. I also got panic attack and feeling of butterflies in the stomach etc. Never been on anything like it again or since. Only the mild rides, which I still enjoy but you wouldnt' get me on a rollercoaster or big wheel or anything fast like that for all the tea in China. Otherwise if it's something you really want to do, you just have to use relaxation and breathing techniques to help you keep relaxed and focused then just enjoy it, otherwise keep the heck away from it! :)

Good luck and hope you enjoy it if you decide to go for it. :)

Well having some fear of a rollercoaster is normal, but you may want to watch it while you are waiting in line. You will notice that the same amount of people get off as got on, and that should show you it is safe. Granted it is a rush of adrenaline to go fast and upsdie down, but it can be enjoyable.

why would you want to? i never understood this. where's the fun in rollercoasters? i would much rather go down the pub or have sex or play football or play the ps2 than go on a dangerous looking track that moves you around at high speeds. stupid. stupid people like rollercoasters. i've yet to meet and intelligent person who said they enjoyed rollercoasters

What youve got to do is have adrink, get just barely drunk, go to a park and youll ride everything with no sweat - or just go for it. I thought some rides would be scary, it was EASY!!
