there's so many options really lavender kinda shows a sensative side, i think but it's kind of a color that doesn't really 'take control' red would show that you are there to take charge and get things done a navy blue might go nice, it'd just be a calm, relaxing, almost confident tie color black would be classy and of course the classic cool but then again, i went to prom last month and i had a black dress so my date wore black pants and a white shirt and we ended up picking out a silver tie to go with it all. it looks really nice, and it's something different and it's still classy and it would look pretty formal for the interview

Black goes beautifully with Lavender.
It is not the best or the only color that does go, but I wouldn't suggest wearing Tulip-leaf green pants or any green color for that matter, Unless you want to look like a plant? so... I'd go with black all the way!
I don't really like gray clothing myself, but it might go for you? Don't know? Check it out.
Another choice, might be a black and gray pin stripe suit... EASY ON & with the pinstripes though! Lets not go prison bar with it.

Definitely black. Especially if your tie has purple in it. Khaki pants (they should be dress pants if you are wearing a tie) would be ok as well, but it would dress down the outfit and not look quite right with the tie.

Black works with pretty much everything. Depending on the colors of the tie, I think chocolate brown would look really cool too.

Khaki wouldn't look so great, though they are a little more casual than black. I would say black. It's the sleekest, and you can't really match anything wrong with it.
Good luck with the girl!
