i am trying to get internet wireless service,and they have difentes plans based on the internet use that is measured in kb.

bring up the task manager and go to the network tab there will be a graph at the top and you can see past and present activity which will show you bytes received

hello friend

first of all its not bites it is bytes. if u have high kbps(kilo bytes per second) that much fast is ur internet connection. if u want a fast one then go for high kbps.(256kbps, 512kbps, ......)
when u are navigating web u can find how much u downloaded and uploaded. when u established ur connection ucan notice two screens tray icon(right most bottom left to time)by double clicking that icon a menu will open which also shows total sent and total recieved data their u can find

I have Earthlink 3.0 speed its pretty fast I pay $27.99 a month they have a 1.5 option for $19.00. Theres a web site I cant remember the name but its free to check on your connection speed. Contact Earthlink they have great service and great priceing

Download a program called DUmeter. You can have it monitor the amount you download/upload.

I would go for the most Kilobits that you can afford...the more Kilobits, the faster it will go.
