But when I try to log into my mail it is very very slow.. I also have cable and have all kinds of back up on this computer..So it has to be with Yahoo..just my opinion.

Think about both sides of the equation. Everytime anyone does anything on yahoo, yahoo's servers have to work just as hard as the other person's computer to send info back to the person. Sometimes on peak hours, they get too busy, and some people get put on "Hold". that's why it's taking so long.

yes just because you have a good computer doesn't mean you have a good connection. If you are using a cable modem and its the lowest package you will only be allowed to access sites at a certain speed. Second you may have a full temp folder go to start run and type in %temp% and remove everything in that folder hope this helps

-As previously mentioned in this thread, delete temporary internet files. In IE6, go to Tools/Internet Options/ and make the selection to delete temporary files, cookies, etc. Also choose to delete offline content when prompted.

-Update virus definitions in your antivirus software and run system scan. If you don't have antivirus, you should get it. You run considerable risk to your system with a high-speed connection. I recommend Norton Antivirus. If you don't have antivirus software and have no plans to get it at this time, go to this site and run the Trend Micro "Housecall" online antivirus scan: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

-Download, install, update and run at least one anti-spyware software, such as Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware, or both. Here's one place you can get SpyBot: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html. (Copy/paste into browser search.) Or you can try Ad-Aware. Here's a source for that one: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Note that I think that there is a strong possibility that spyware is a contributing factor to your problems.

-You can try the new beta version of IE7. Although it is still in beta, it works fine for me. This new build of Internet Explorer borrows from some of it's competitors, such as Opera (stripped-down browser for faster surfing) and Firefox (tabbed browsing.) It actually loads websites noticably faster. Here's the link:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx

-Uninstall any third-party toolbars you have loaded onto Internet Explorer, such as the Yahoo toolbar.

-Check to make sure your security settings in IE are not set too low, using defaults if you're not sure. IE6- Tools/Internet Options/Security and select Medium or Medium-High, or click the button to restore default settings.

-Disable any popup blockers that may be running. Whereas the popups are annoying, you could have a conflict if using multiple instances of popup blocking software.

Let us know if any of this helps, and if not, there are more things we can try.

Good luck!
-John
