You can try to promote them over the Internet. One thing that you can do is go into office buildings and give the receptionist a free candle if she will promise to tell everyone about you and show your candle to them. If she herself becomes a customer give her a discount for the free advertising. Just go in and say "if I give you this free candle will you promise to tell everyone about my company?" Most of them will do it with no problem. A family member of mine runs a candy company and started that way.

Do a press release for your local county paper. Think of a creative title (The love for candle light). Make it sound like a story, not advertisement. Be subtle about specifying your name, website, address, etc. Things like that appear in my local paper all the time, and they do work. Contact the paper for details as to where to send a press release.

Word of mouth is the BEST type of advertisement, however you're looking for the fastest right now. Family and friend's co-workers. Let them bring some to work, just for display though, don't have them push it in peoples' faces. Walk around to other small business's (since they understand how hard it is to start off) and let them have some to display with your card for free. Don't let them get stale though, switch them out every so often to keep people looking. Good luck!

Try and sell them to local shops? Perhaps also get a website designed and built - it doesn't have to cost much. You can promote your website on the candle packagaing and once you have one store stocking your products, go for another and another ... one day you may even have your own shop! Good luck with it.

Is there a college near you? College students love candles. Maybe the campus bookstore would be open to the idea. Also try yoga studios and new age shops in your area.

I would make very smart promotion packs, maybe with a fine example of your work, and send them to certain magazines you think capure your market.

Even a small article about your work could prove to be your big break.
