i'm trying to burn movies and it won't read the DVDR's. it reads the actual movies and encodes them but when i put in the dvd+r it won't read, it just keeps searching for the disc. it used to work but just stopped suddenly. i bought a new drive and it does the exact same thing. what the hell??? please help

Are you positive that the drive supports +R discs?

You could well be burning on the wrong type of disks, inquire about the right kind at the store. I tried to burn something on disk too and found out I was using the wrong kind. Also try using Nero Burner.

Is you drive DVD+/- or just DVD -? Some dvd drives only read certain types of DVD's such as + or - some read both +/-

there is noting wrong with the dvd drive
its windows xp . it dont let you use

Try some new disks, including a different brand.

Try Buying DVD-R. It may not be able to read DVD+R.

It might be the burning program you are using...try a different one. I use DIKO and it works great.
