ok i made an appointment with my dr. to get a blood pregnancy test and to talk with her. but she wasn't able to get me in until october the 13th. my last NORMAL period was july 13. then i had a weird one -9 days late and ended 2 days early. so if i am pregnant i might be like 2 months. so would this be to long to wait. or should i find another doctor? could this hurt the baby if i am? i'm taking pre natal vitamins as well just to be on the safe side. Thanks.

Many doctors do not even see patients until 12 weeks into pregnancy. You are doing all the right things in taking your prenatal vitamins. Your doctor cannot do anything for you right now so there is no risk to you or baby. If there was an issue with baby there would be no way to tell yet. I would relax and enjoy early pregnancy. If you are pregnant then a urine test should show it by now. The others may have been taken too early. Wait a week or so and then do another test if you are curious.

Most dr's won't see you until you are at least 8 weeks- and then sometimes it is just a nurse appt where you go over your history & dates etc with them and they send you down for a blood test. I had a M/C on Feb 11 this year- had 2 cycles after that- one on Apr 4 and one on 5/1 but they said my last cycle that I had was not a real one... Am pregnant now- my orig due date was 2/5/07 based on my "2nd" cycle but the baby is measuring too big for that so my new due date is 1/24/07 which is right in between where it should be based on my cycles... Anything is possible!
I wouldn't worry too much about how long it is getting in to the doctor- just do everything like you ARE pregnant until you get the doctors confirmation that it is for sure.

Have you tried going to a womens clinic and getting the blood test? And if you have good insurace you could go to the ER and get the test. I don't recommend it but if your really concerned than it is an option. Have you taken a home pregnancy test? If it came back positive then maybe you should get another doctor to do the test and fax the results to your normal doctor. If the test came back negative then don't rush and waste your money.

Its pretty normal for OB's not to have you come in to be seen until 8 or 12 weeks pregnant. All they are going to do at the first visit is do some blood work and possibly a vaginal ultrasound.
Have you gotten a positive urine test? You could always go to Planned Parenthood or a family health clinic and request a blood test in the mean time.

Most ob's don't see pregnant patients til 8 weeks along so it's fine to wait that long. Also, a late short period is certainly not an indicator of pregnancy. Take an at home test--they are as reliable as the urine tests used in drs. offices.

Take a home test if you haven't yet and keep on the pre-natals. If your in generally good health (no high blood pressure, normal weight, etc) you should be fine. The first visit or two consist of weighing in and getting your vitals recorded and they will give an approximate due date.

No. It won't hurt the baby. There is nothing the doctor would be able to do anyway except for to make sure the baby developed in your uterus and not your fallopian tube. My friend is also about 2 months pregnant right now and her appointment is not until October 11th. I think they would have scheduled you sooner if they were concerned about anything. Good luck.

No it shouldn't be too long, esp. if you are feeling fine.Take a home test, and if it positive then at least you know. But really there is nothing the doc. is going to do besides book an ultrasound to try and determine how far along you are.Best of Luck.

Most pregnancy tests will give results 4 days before your period. If you've taken one recently and haven't had a period in two months, then you're not likely preg.

Have you tried a home test? If you have and it is negative, most likely you aren't pregnant. I would try the home test first. You might have some kind of hormonal imbalance that is causing your periods to be off.
