...your coach made some mistakes that allowed the other team to regain offensive momentum. As a member of this team how would you handle the situation?

Interms of answering this question, the only thing I am sure of is that sitting on the end of the bench and screamong about how stupid the coach is not what a team player does.

There is a time and a place for everything.

Dissent is patriotic my ***!!!!

I would just go on to do my best and try to get the team to hang together and rally. No, screaming about the stupid coach is wrong. Everyone makes mistakes. If this isn't an ongoing thing with this coach, then just chalk it up and move on.

Obviously the coach has made some mistakes, but the players are the ones playing the game, so they have some responsibility for the outcome and their performance. I think the players can let the coach know what they are observing on the field and make suggestions to change strategy or try a new scheme on offense. I agree that yelling at the coach doesn't do anything except make the situation worse.

As far as your comment about dissent-Thomas Jefferson said "Dissent is the greatest form of patriotism." I don't know if I agree or not, but it was said by a pretty powerful man in the history of this country.

Ever been on a team where the coach was picked a majority vote of the players? Neither have I.

Ever been on a team where a coach's bad decisions affected your personal safety? Neither have I.

Last time I checked, Grady Little was fired for keeping Pedro in and losing to the Yankees. Pedro stayed and they won the World Series the very next year with a brand new manager.

A closer analogy would be that a third of the team started scoring points for the other team.

"Some" mistakes is dishonest. The analogy of a game to this situation is bogus.
