Yep, still do. I still take files to remote locations, work of someone's database, download changes and bring them back to my systems.

Floppy disc drives still have an advantage over CD when I need to make saves, on the fly. With a CD, one has to finish the work, and then set up a burning session to save it on CD. I sometimes have to work at locations where the power is unreliable. I learned my lesson in the early days of PCs when I would lose an hour or so of work because I didn't save often enough. With a floppy, I can work a bit, hit save, and work a bit more.

It hasn't happened yet, but if the system or hard drive fails, I still have the latest saved version of the file saved on a floppy. I can just push the eject button and take the disc, knowint the work is safe.

I understand that this is not always practical. Floppy discs are notoriously slow and only hold less than 1 1/2 megs. But it has saved my butt on occasion.

Isn't a floppy categorized the same as like a record player or Atari these days? And no, I have a super duper 16x CD-RW/DVD-RW drive :-)
