Thats an easy one.
It is incorrect because the word "may" is used.
the following would be more accurate.

igneous rocks are formed by the cooling of magma and or lava.


if lava intrudes into a rock the heat from the lava may change the surrounding rock and make metamorphic rock.

Because lavas are extruded onto the surface of the earth. An intrusive rock, such as granite, is a magma, not a lava.

haha, agreed with previous, the only exception i can find to this, is if you used this statement in reference to a question about metamorphosed rocks - rocks of any type can be metamorphosed by a nearby intrusion of lava which reconfigures the minerals in the rock
