If you are using Hotmail or Yahoo mail, then the web site IP address is recorded to a log. Where I work, management gets a report every week of how many websites everyone visited and what sites they were. If your web usage goes over a certain amount, you get in trouble.

Hmmmmm the above all depends on if you check your email through the Internet.
But if your using outlook and using your work email to receive personal emails then the reality is they probably don't, although most companies probably have software that monitors for certain words etc... but then again most companies don't have the man power to Wade through ALL of the emails that come through a companies exchange.... Everyone has some form or another of persona mails coming through so I wouldn't worry about it too much to be honest....

They can log and thern check which IPs people are visiting. In addition to the obvious ones (Yahoo, hotmail, gmail) they can do a reverse lookup on the other IPs and see what they find.
Keep in mind that employers can also have a sniffer check what is being sent and recieved, so even if you send something from a private e-mail, they can still see what you sent or read.

it administrators can look at your computer remotely because they know your ip since they set up your computer. they can look at your history and see what websites you have been to. i believe there is also software out there so they can watch you in real time. so even if you delete your history they can watch you check your e-mail. of course, some companies go a step farther and lock you out of certain websites. if your employers have told you not to read your personal e-mail then I wouldn't do it because they can find out if they want to.

Company computers have history server capbilities. Ours do anyway. Just check the history. It cant be deleted from the employee computer becasue the history is recorded in the server not his/her individual computer. Its very legal by the way.
